Serve this unique and delicious dish with hot naan.
Mutton ½ kg
Salt to taste
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tbsp
Onions (medium) 2
Red Chili Powder 1 tbsp
Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
Yogurt 1 cup
Green Cardamom 3 -4
Anise Seeds 1 tbsp
Nutmeg ½ tsp
Gram Flour 2 tbsp
Wheat Flour 1 tbsp
Green Chilies 3 -4
Fresh Coriander ½ bunch
Dalda VTF Banaspati ½ cup
In a frying pan, heat Dalda VTF Banaspati over medium heat for 1 minute, add in gram flour, wheat flour and fry or 2 – 3 minutes. Shift the mixture into a bowl and make a paste by adding 4 tbsp of water.
Grind the cardamom, anise seeds and nutmeg. Chop the green chilies, fresh coriander and 1 onion. Finely chop the other onion.
Heat Dalda VTF Banaspati over medium heat for 2 – 3 minutes, add the finely chopped onion till golden in colour.
Add the ginger garlic paste, mutton and chopped onion to the oil and stir for 3 – 4 minutes.
Add salt, red chilies and turmeric and stir fry the whole mixture for 1 – 2 minutes. Mix in the yogurt.
Cover and cook for 20 – 25 minutes, till the meat is half done.
Pour in the flour mixture and dried spices to the meat and simmer for 10 – 12 minutes on low heat.
When the meat is tender remove it from the stove and garnish with green chilies and fresh coriander.
