Step by Step method

  • Step 1

    In a bowl combine Dalda Cooking Oil, chopped garlic, lemon juice, crushed black pepper and salt. Whisk well so all ingredients are combined properly.

  • Step 2

    Add veal chops to the marinade and set aside either overnight in the refrigerator or for at least 2 hours.

  • Step 3

    Heat a grilling pan. Brush the pan with Dalda Cooking Oil and grill veal chops on both sides for 5 minutes on medium flame until chops have proper grill marks on both sides and are medium done.

  • Step 4

    You can also pre-heat the oven at 160 degrees Centigrade and transfer the veal chops to a baking sheet to grill them for about 5-8 minutes or until they are fully cooked through.

  • Step 5

    Keep turning and tossing the veal chops during the grilling process so that they are equally done from both sides (recommended only for people who prefer well done meat).

  • Step 6

    For the sauce, heat butter in a pan. Add chopped garlic and sauté till light brown. Add fresh cream, chicken stock and toss in some fresh basil leaves. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Step 7

    Stir well and switch off the flame. If you find your sauce a bit runny, mix cornflour with 1 tbsp beef stock and add to the sauce to give it the right consistency.

  • Step 8

    Serve grilled chops with sauce on the side.

Tips & variations

  • Meat tastes best when half done but if you prefer well done or rare, you can adjust the temperature and cooking time to suit your taste buds.
